Heat Index Could Top 109

New Braunfels Office of Emergency Management just issued an advisory warning of heat indices between 105 and 109 degrees Fahrenheit this afternoon.

“Be alert for signs of heat exhaustion. Take extra precautions when doing strenuous activities outdoors…such as scheduling frequent breaks indoors or in the shade and drink plenty of water!

Also… be sure to check on people with health problems … children… and the elderly as they are most susceptible to heat exhaustion and heat stroke. Never leave young children or pets in an enclosed vehicle… even for a short time as the temperatures can rise to life threatening levels in a matter of minutes!”
