Canyon Lake resident Giovanni Fernandez, 21, is being held in Hays County Jail. Bond is set at $50,000.
A 21-year-old Canyon Lake man is in Hays County Jail today, charged with allegedly hitting and killing 31-year-old pedestrian Adam Martinez with his car in the 3300 block of I-35 on Saturday then leaving the scene of the accident.
Giovanni Fernandez was arrested today and the bond was set at $50,000. He faces a second-degree felony charge of Accident Involving Death.
San Marcos police investigated the accident as a hit-and-run crash
Police found Martinez’s body lying on the west access road. They used surveillance video showing Martinez being struck by Fernandez, who was behind the wheel of a dark-colored Toyota Camry.
