Canyon Park includes the Madrone Trail, named after the tree. This rocky 7.6-mile trail winds its way through the peninsula at Canyon Park. This is a popular mountain-biking trail with lots of rocky challenges. Visitors are asked to stay on the trail as it passes through the fee area towards the end of the peninsula. This is a natural area with no lake access. For more information visit ComalTrails.org.
WORD has ruined both Comal and Canyon Park to windsurfers and kayakers by putting the swim buoys Across the ENTIRE area. During heavy winds we have to try to swim under the buoys WITH our gear. Also, when under the Corps of engineers veterans were allowed into to the park free. Not anymore.
