Canyon Lake High School’s Robotics Team is in Frisco this weekend, competing in the Texas BEST/UIL State Championship.
This fall’s challenge is “Made 2 Order,” and students are focused on solving a global issue — improving the supply chain.
Projects must find fulfillment solutions using robots as part of the supply chain.
The competition ends Saturday.
The team is coached by Patrick Fallin. Team members include Jackson Alvarez, William Bright, Kaylee Caraway, Robert Castillo, Noah Chandler, Tyler Dow, James Garza, Santino Jebaudayakumar, Brodie Matherne, Kevin Mendoza, Erick Ortiz, Jacob Reed, Chief Rendon, Damon Sanders, James Stevens and Regina Suarez.
They advanced to the state championship after placing third in the robot competition category at the San Antonio BEST Regional Competition in October.
Students from Hill Country College Preparatory High School, Spring Branch Middle School and Smithson Valley Middle School are competing in Frisco also.
Good Luck to all our smart, hard working young people in our area. They are solving world problems not making them. Congratulations!
