This New Braunfels home is on the market for $1.18 million.
Property owners will soon receive their 2023 tax appraisals in the mail, and Comal County Tax Assessor-Collector Kristen Hoyt wants to make sure they understand how property taxes work.
She’s partnering with Comal Appraisal District Chief Appraiser Jeffrey Booker to host property tax workshops in each precinct over the next six weeks.
“We have partnered to host these forums that will allow for discussion about these notices, the appraisal process, tax-rate calculations and more,” Hoyt said. “I am particularly concerned with the public’s knowledge and understanding of the Texas Property Tax system and their rights in the process at it pertains to protesting value and involvement in the tax-rate process.”
Property tax workshops are scheduled for:
- 6 p.m. Wednesday, April 19 at the New Braunfels Public Library, 700 E. Common St., New Braunfels.
- 6 p.m. Monday, April 17 at the Bulverde Visitors & Event Center, 499 Singing Oaks # 101, Spring Branch.
- 6 p.m. Monday, May 8 at Tye Preston Memorial Library, 16311 S. Access Rd., Canyon Lake.
