Another Canyon Lake boat ramp will close this week due to drought.
Potter’s Creek Park Ramp #20 east, located inside the park, will close by Friday due to very low lake levels. As of Monday, July 18, Canyon Lake was at 895.17 feet and 72.9% full.
Only five of Canyon Lake’s 23 boat ramps are still open: The only free ramps are #6, #17, and #21. Admission to Canyon Park, #18, is $5/$20, and Canyon Lake Marina, #19, is $30.
The Potter’s Creek ramp and Potter’s Creek Park are operated by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, which made the announcement on Recreation.gov.
Potter’s Creek Park is a beautiful “Class A” park located on the northwest side of Canyon Lake. It includes 114 modern RV campsites, seven screened shelters, 10 designated tent-camping sites and five family sites. Usage of park is restricted to paid camping guests.
