Comal County’s Public Health Department Outreach Team showed up at Canyon Lake’s Tye Preston Memorial Library this week to remind parents it’s time to schedule appointments for their children’s back-to-school vaccines.
The group shared information about vaccines for school-aged children, Texas Vaccines for Children (TVFC) and mental health resources in the county.
Comal ISD hosts two back-to-back student immunization clinics from 9 a.m. to noon Thursday, Aug. 3 at Bill Brown Elementary School, 20410 TX-46, Spring Branch; and from 1-4 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 3 at Mountain Valley Elementary School, 310 Cannan Rd., Canyon Lake.
Extended hours for back-to-school vaccines are 7 a.m. to noon and 1-5 p.m. Friday, Aug. 4; and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 9 and Wednesday, Aug. 23. Public Health is located at 1297 Church Hill, Suite 102, New Braunfels.

Kindergarten-6th grades:
- Diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis (DTaP vaccine)
- Polio (IPV vaccine)
- Measles, mumps and rubella (MMR vaccine)
- Hepatitis B
- Chickenpox (varicella vaccine)
- Hepatitis A
7th grade:
- Tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis (Tdap vaccine)
