Montana Ruckman, 31, of New Braunfels, pled guilty to four drug-related charges of dealing fentanyl in and around Comal County and was sentenced to 30 years in jail, the Comal County District Attorney’s Office said in a statement today.
The charges were enhanced based on his prior criminal history, including a felony conviction for narcotics possession.
Ruckman’s arrest and conviction followed a lengthy investigation and sting operation by the Comal County Sheriff’s Office and New Braunfels Police Department.
Law enforcement learned Ruckman was distributing fentanyl in and around Comal County and also used social media to facilitate drug deals.
“Thank you to the many law enforcement officers that tirelessly work day in and day out to make our streets safer,” the district attorney’s office said on Facebook. “A successful prosecution and the removal of a drug dealer selling his deadly drug in our community would not have been possible without a tremendous amount of work by these officers.”
Assistant District Attorney Jennifer Feldman and Chief Felony Prosecutor Sammy McCary prosecuted the case. Judge Tracie Wright-Reneau of the 207th District Court presided.
