Canyon Lake Marina has temporarily closed while crews work to “adjust” the marina into deeper water, Aaron Noble, regional marketing manager Central/West for Suntex Marinas, said.
This means Boat Ramp #19 is now closed on weekdays but open to the public on weekends.
“To maintain our timelines there is no overnight parking and towing will be strictly enforced,” he said in an email. “This temporary disruption will continue until further notice. We do not have a timeline to announce at this time. For customers with questions, please contact Cranes Mill Marina at 830-299-7220.”
The ramp may not reopen in time for the busy Memorial Day Weekend, which kicks off the summer boating season.
Boaters are cautioned that construction at the marina will remain ongoing during weekends. According to an employee who answered the phone at Canyon Lake Marina, which owns and operates the private ramp, use of Boat Ramp #19 on weekends is ‘at-risk’ only.
Boaters are asked to use the top parking lot and to contact the marina’s service department if they need access to their trailers.
There is a $30 fee to use the ramp.
There are 23 boat ramps around the lake, but all are closed due to drought except for Boat Ramp #18 in Canyon Park, which is operated by the Water Oriented District of Comal County.
