The Texas Water Company ( TWC) plans two free 50-gallon rain barrel giveaways for residential customers this week.
The company will hand out 500 rain barrels packaged in cardboard boxes that are 31 inches high, 23 inches wide, and 24 inches deep (measurement from front to back) on Wednesday, Oct. 9, and Thursday, Oct. 10, at Hidden Valley Sports Park across from the CRRC of Canyon Lake Rec Center, 125 Mabel Jones Dr.
Customers must provide a copy of their water bill and also can pick up a barrel for a neighbor as long as an invoice is provided.
The giveaway is limited to one rain barrel per residential account. Those who received a rain barrel in August are not eligible.
“At Texas Water Company, we truly appreciate your dedication to conserving water,” TWC President Aundrea Williams said in a letter to customers.
According to the company’s website, rain collected in barrels can be used to water plants.
Schedule
7-9 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 9 for customers with addresses ending in even numbers 0, 2, 4, 6, and 8
7-9 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 10 for customers with addresses ending in odd numbers 1, 3, 5, 7 and 9
So disappointed. I got in line at 6:45 today. For the rain barrels.I got within 4 cars and saw the car barrier go up. At 8:05 I along with many others were in the line for well over an hour. You should not let one vehicle pick up for others. I saw a truck go by with three. They need to get in line like the rest of us. How about rain checks? Also you could not have got out line if you wanted as there was no where to turn around safely. Big time waster.
