Water levels at Jacob’s Well in nearby Wimberley are receding rapidly.
In the absence of significant rainfall, Hays County Parks says the U.S. Geological Service measured zero flow at the popular tourist attraction over the last three weeks.
Visibility remains poor and a biofilm is visible on the water’s surface.
Swimming is prohibited, but the 81-acre Jacob’s Well Natural Area remains open to the public.
Jacob’s Well’s spring is the headwaters of Cypress Creek, which flows through Blue Hole Regional Park and into the Blanco River.
The park is located at 1699 Mt. Sharp Rd., Wimberley.
