Canyon Lake High School’s Hawk Band will compete at the 2024 UIL Area Marching Contest at Calallen High School in Corpus Christi on Nov. 2 after earning a superior rating of 1st division from all three judges at Region 12 UIL Marching Contest Saturday.
Adjudicator Mark Fender said the band had great soloists.
“Marchers do a great job with the high physical demands of the drill,” he said. “I like your ensemble sound throughout. You handled the high technical demands of the music and the high physical demands very well.”
Another judge, Stephen Krupicka, said the band put on a “really entertaining show.”
“What a good band and a great ensemble sound,” said George Strickland.
