New Braunfels police arrested four male suspects after two separate police pursuits along I-35 today.
One of the suspects has an active warrant for his arrest out of Houston for capital murder and is now in custody in Comal County Jail, New Braunfels Police Department (NBPD) said in a statement.
The first chase, involving that suspect, began around 10:15 a.m. after police were called to the 2600 block of White Wing Way for report of a possible burglary.
Two male suspects fled the scene in a stolen white Kia passenger car. Officers chased the suspects as they headed northbound on I-35 before ending up on the northbound I-35 frontage road just before Buc-ee’s, where they crashed into another vehicle.
The two fled on foot but were quickly apprehended.
Local charges against the suspects include evading in a vehicle and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. Other charges may be pending.
The second pursuit began around noon in Guadalupe County and ended up in New Braunfels. The suspects drove along Walnut Avenue at I-35 and ended up at the Engel Road turnaround.
Two male suspects were taken into custody.
No further information is available. The Guadalupe County Sheriff’s Office did not release a statement.
