The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ (USACE) Fort Worth District will close Overlook Park and the Canyon Dam Service Road for contract work from Dec. 2 through March 31, 2025.

During that time, repairs to the control-tower service bridge and a project to install about a mile of pipe-rail fence will be completed.

North Park Campground will open temporarily for walking, jogging, running and bicycling. Motorized vehicles will not be allowed in the park. The park is located at 3210 N. Park Rd. It sits at the opposite end of the Dam Service Road from Overlook Park.

“The Corps understands this closure will be an inconvenience, but public safety is the primary concern while this necessary contract work is underway,” said USACE Lake Manager Brett Mazey.

“We appreciate the understanding and patience of the public during this closure and hope visitors will use the alternative nearby North Park Campground for their recreational activities.”
