The U.S. National Weather Service Austin-San Antonio (NWS) reports Comal County received a half-inch or less of snow overnight.

NWS said snow accumulations might be higher in some areas because today’s weather map (above) was generated using automated stations.

However data released in its public information statement shows snow totals of:

  • Fischer – 0.5 inches
  • Bulverde – 0.4 inches
  • Canyon Lake – 0.2 inches
  • New Braunfels – 0.1-0.2 inches

The weather service warned amateur meteorologists that snow must be measured on flat, even surfaces in multiple places to obtain an average of snow/sleet.

Partial or full melting of the snow and any ice is expected this afternoon.
