Make a touchdown at the CRRC of Canyon Lake’s 3rd Annual Soup-er Bowl Food Drive.
Donate canned soup or host a food drive to stock the food pantry with warm, nourishing meals for local families.
CRRC hopes that rallying the community around a fun, football-themed food drive will encourage residents to donate.
“Last year we collected just over 1,000 cans of soup and are hoping to smash that record this year,” said CRRC Development Director Alma Hernandez. “Soup is one of the pantry items we can’t seem to keep on our shelves and it’s not only nutritious and filling but it’s also easy to prepare for clients who may have limited cooking facilities. Pop-top cans make it even more accessible for seniors, individuals with disabilities, and those experiencing housing insecurity.”
Drop off cans of soup with pop tops from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at CRRC Resource Center, 1917 FM2673, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the CRRC Recreation Center, 125 Mabel Jones Dr., or at Tye Preston Memorial Library, 16311 S. Access Rd. now through March 3.
Brookshire Brothers will deliver customers’ food purchases to the pantry or soup can be purchased through the CRRC’s Amazon account.
