Immunization Clinic for CLHS Students Offered March 12

Comal ISD will host an immunization clinic for Canyon Lake High School students from 1-2:30 p.m. March 11 at the school, 8555 FM 32, Fischer.

Clinics also are scheduled from 3:15-4:45 p.m. at Canyon High School, 1510 IH 35, New Braunfels; 8:55-10 a.m. at Pieper High School, 1400 Kinder Parkway, San Antonio; and from 10:45 a.m., to 12:15 p.m. at Smithson Valley High School, 14001 Highway 46, Spring Branch.

The four clinics are open to all students.

All insurance policies including Medicaid will be verified. The out-of-pocket cost is $10 per shot for those 18 and under.

Anyone 19 years and older will be charged adult prices, which vary depending on the vaccine.

When completing the registration information write ‘NA’ for all insurance questions if the family does not have health insurance.

Information for Seniors

  • MCV4 (meningitis) – required for colleges. All entering students at an institution of higher education are required to show proof of an initial meningococcal vaccination or a booster dose during the five-year period prior to enrolling. They must get the vaccine at least 10 days before the semester begins.
  • Men B, a two-shot shot series for a fifth strain of meningitis that is usually optional, but students should check requirements for specific college guidelines.
