Comal County’s Commissioners Court today reinstated a burn ban for unincorporated areas of the county beginning at 6 a.m. Friday, April 18.
Fire Marshal Kory Klabunde said today’s Keetch-Byram Drought Index (KBDI) is at 523. By law, burn bans are implemented at 500 points.
“With spring beginning and everything looking green right now, that growth is quickly depleting our ground moisture,” he said. “There is some rain predicted over the weekend and hopefully we will receive some.”
