Learn about plans to renovate and expand Canyon Lake’s Tye Preston Memorial Library (TPML), 16311 S. Access Rd., from 5-5:45 p.m. Wednesday, May 7 and from 5:45-6:30 p.m. the same day.

Architects with Steinberg Hart will give a project overview and share preliminary renderings.

Feedback is welcome. Architects also will be available to answer questions from the public.

TPML purchased land adjoining its property at the frontage of the South Access Road to allow for additional development.

Some 88,000 people visited the library in 2024. When TPML first opened its doors in 2010 there were 61,038 visitors.

According to statistics on tpml.org, Canyon Lake’s population increased by 15% over the last four years.

“As a result of that growth, and the ability to control expenditures, the purchase of land was within the realm of possibility for the first time,” the library explained on its website.
