Lara Trump, daughter-in-law of President Donald Trump, Fox News anchor and former co-chair of the Republican National Committee, will speak at the Comal County Republican Party’s primary fundraising event 7:30 p.m. Thursday, May 15.
Trump is married to Donald Trump’s son Eric, trustee and executive director of the Trump Organization.
Guest speakers are Trey Trainor, a member of the Federal Election Commission; Mitch Little, who represents District 65 in the Texas House of Representatives; and Joe Pags, a nationally syndicated conservative television and radio talk show host.
Brad Bennett, a party volunteer who is also a digital creator and Spectrum’s business account executive, will emcee the event.
No further details are available about “The Dawn of the Golden Era.” Location information was provided only to those who purchased tickets priced between $100 to $750.
On Facebook, Comal Republicans said the event is almost sold out.
Not all area Republicans are thrilled with the backdoor politics that put Trump front and center of the party’s biggest annual fundraiser.
Naomi Narvaiz, a committee woman with the State Republican Executive Committee SD 25 and Comal County Precinct Chair 306, called out Comal County Republican Party Chair Mark Montgomery in a public post on social media Feb. 20.
She said he sent an email requesting an in-person emergency meeting after failing to get enough votes to sign Trump to a deal during a Zoom call.
When Narvaiz showed up, Montgomery was on the phone with precinct chairs Chrystina Powers and Carolyn Besselman, and allowed them to vote.
“He entered the CEC into a contract for a speaking fee of $50 K. As you may know, this does not include advertising, food, venue, security, etc. He said he didn’t have time to let the body know…before having to sign the contract, but he did have a committee working on it for months.”
An argument ensued between Narvaiz and another precinct chair “who began to use cuss words.”
“I want everyone in the Comal County Republican Party and Republican Party of Texas to know because these are the people from the Bulverde Spring Branch Conservative Republicans who have lied, deceived, and pushed out anyone who does not agree with them, and yet they are a coalition of the RPT,” she said. “These people do not follow rules or care that they are bringing shame on the party.”
Montgomery did not respond to MyCanyonLake.com’s request for comment.
