A Canyon Lake High School (CLHS) dance teacher has resigned after being made aware of allegations of inappropriate conduct with a former student during the 2020-21 school year.
Sarah Grudle was hired as an assistant dance director in 2018.
In a statement Thursday, Comal ISD said it takes allegations of this nature seriously and reported the incident to the Texas Education Agency, the State Board for Educator Certification (SBEC) and the Comal County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO).
The school district said CCSO will investigate, and is not aware of any other misconduct that may have occurred between Grudle and any current or former students.
No further details were released. Grudle’s name does not appear in an online search of Comal County Jail and criminal court records.
She is the third CLHS teacher accused of inappropriate relations with a student since 2022.
Although her name no longer appears in a staff directory on the high school’s website, on LinkedIn Grudle describes herself as a former teacher and director at CLHS through May 2025.
Her listed accomplishments include designing and implementing engaging lesson plans; introducing a new classroom-management system that reduced disruptions by 30%, leading to improved student focus and class participation; mentoring over 50 students in extracurricular activities, including dance teams; collaborating with faculty to develop and deliver interdisciplinary projects; and enhancing cross-department communication and learning outcomes.
On Facebook, Grudle also promotes I&You, a hand-lettering business she formed in 2022. On her business page she described herself as a full-time dance director for three teams, a dance teacher and a choreographer.
According to her LinkedIn profile, she also works in a contract position with Summit Travel and Tours, coordinating group travel for trips to Walt Disney World.
Grudle performed as a Canyon High School Aristocat for four years, serving as captain her senior year. She attended Texas Tech University and graduated with a degree in dance in 2014. While at university, she performed with the University Dance Company and apprenticed with Flatlands Dance Theater.
She also worked at Illusion Dance Center and Wimberley Dance Elite.
