Guadalupe River floodwaters will begin spilling into Canyon Lake overnight, along with thousands of yards of debris.

Canyon Lake currently has the capacity to capture and store incoming flows and river debris — boats, jet skis, kayaks and humans not so much.

Anyone in the water should keep an eye out for debris, which may not always be visible from the surface.

Canyon Lake and Cranes Mill marinas say they are keeping an eye out for debris and are prepared to change and/or fortify structures and pathways as needed.

The Guadalupe River flows into Canyon Lake from Spring Branch, where it is impounded by Canyon Dam.

All Canyon Lake boat ramps remain closed except for Boat Ramp #19 at Canyon Lake Marina, which is closed to the public. Non-motorized vessels like kayaks and jet skis can launch from boat ramps.
