Voter registration cards expired Dec. 31, 2025 but Comal County’s Elections Office is working with the Texas Secretary of State’s Office to ensure new cards are printed and mailed well before the March 3 primary election.

In a statement, Comal County spokesperson Cary Zayas said residents are still eligible to vote regardless of the date on their cards, which are not required at polling locations. Photo IDs like driver’s licenses are accepted as proof of registration, as are Reasonable Impediment Declarations for utility bills, bank statements, government checks, or a voter registration certificate.

The deadline to register to vote in the primary is Feb. 2.
