Comal ISD schools and departments will close Monday, Jan. 26 due to extreme cold and the potential for hazardous icy conditions, the district said today in a statement.
A decision was made to “prioritize the safety of students, staff and communities.”
District officials will continue to monitor weather conditions Monday for any potential issues for Tuesday morning. Parents and guardians are asked to monitor the district’s social media and local news and radio stations for any possible updates.
All New Braunfels ISD campuses will close Monday, but the district said students and staff should plan to return Tuesday.
An Extreme Cold Warning remains in effect until noon Monday.
Wind chills are expected to range from the teens down to single digits, which can be dangerous for people and pets.
