Comal County: Almost 6,000 Residents Cast Ballots During First Three Days of Early Voting

Election data posted on Comal County’s website shows 5,831 Democrats and Republicans cast ballots during the first three days of early voting last week.

A total of 3,993 Republicans and 1,838 Democrats voted Tuesday, Feb. 17-Thursday, Feb. 19.

Some 311 Republicans voted by mail and 156 Democrats voted by mail.

There are 147,503 registered voters in the county.

Data for Friday and Saturday has not been posted to the county’s Elections Office site.

Data uploaded to the Texas Secretary of State (SOS) places Thursday, Feb. 19’s vote tally at 1,485 cumulative in-person and mail voters for Republicans (1.01%) and 1,328 (0.9%) for Democrats.

Although this website is considered an official source of election information, short-term data can vary from that collected at the county level due to several factors, including the way information is uploaded and verified.

SOS site places Comal’s vote tally as of Saturday, Feb. 21, at 4,136 cumulative in-person and mail in voters for Republicans (2.8%) and 2,137 (1.45%) for Democrats.

According to reporting on X today by the nonprofit website votehub.com, over half a million Democratic primary ballots were cast during the first week of early voting — nearly 90% of the total early votes in 2022 and more than double that year’s one-week pace.

Current Democratic total is 544,894 votes.

VoteHub also reported over 440,000 Republican primary ballots were cast during the first week of early voting — 43% of the total early votes in 2022 and slightly ahead of that  year’s one-week pace.

Current Republican total is 440,966 votes.
