Comal County commissioners lifted the burn ban at 10 a.m. today due to heavy weekend rainfall.

The ban goes back into effect 6 a.m. Wednesday, April 15.

“Please be safe and follow all Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) rules,” Fire Marshal Kory Klabunde said in a statement.

Yesterday’s Keetch-Byram Drought Index was 522 points, according to WaterDataforTexas.org.

The drought index ranges from 0 to 800 points. By law, counties must implement burn bans when KBDI exceeds 500 points.
