Texas 2026 Joint Primary Runoff Election Is Tuesday; Around 11,000 Comal County Residents Voted Early through May 21

Polls open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday at 16 vote centers around Comal County.

Election Day for the Republican and Democratic May 26 Primary Runoff elections is Tuesday.

In Comal County, polls will remain open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at these vote centers:

  • Canyon Springs Resort Clubhouse, 691 Canyon Springs Rd., Canyon Lake
  • Tye Preston Memorial Library, 16311 South Access Rd., Canyon Lake
  • St. Francis by the Lake Episcopal Church, Small Room, 121 Spring Mountain Dr., Canyon Lake
  • North Shore United Methodist Church, 23880 N. Cranes Mill Rd., Canyon Lake
  • Mammen Family Public Library, 131 Bulverde Crossing, Bulverde
  • Vintage Oaks Amenity Center, 1250 Via Principale, New Braunfels
  • Cibolo Creek Community Church, 30395 Ralph Fair Rd., Boerne
  • Comal County Offices, Bulverde Annex, JP 2 Courtroom, 30470 Cougar Bend, Bulverde
  • Garden Ridge City Hall, Municipal Court Room, 9400 Municipal Parkway, Garden Ridge
  • Bulverde/Spring Branch Fire & EMS @Johnson Ranch, 30475 Johnson Way, Bulverde
  • Westside Community Center, 2392 S. IH 35, New Braunfels
  • New Braunfels Library, Large Meeting Room, 700 E. Common, New Braunfels
  • Comal County Offices, Church Hill, Training Room, Suite 1400, 1345 Church Hill Dr., New Braunfels
  • Eden Hill, Town Hall, 631 Lakeview Blvd., New Braunfels
  • Gruene Methodist Church, Mission and Outreach Building, 2629 E. Common St., New Braunfels
  • River Chase Clubhouse, 436 River Chase Way, New Braunfels

Residents can cast ballots at any of these locations.

Early Voting

Unofficial results posted on Comal County’s Elections Department and hand-counted by MyCanyonLake.com show 11,134 registered voters cast ballots by mail and showed up at the polls through Thursday, May 21.

Friday’s numbers have not yet been posted on the county’s website.

Some 1,275 residents early-voted by mail and 9,859 cast ballots at polling locations.

Republican turnout in heavily red Comal County currently stands at 9,114 voters. So far, 745 Democrats have cast ballots.

The race between incumbent Texas Sen. John Cornyn and Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton is believed to be behind the heavier Republican turnout.

Local Republicans will decide which candidate for Precinct 1 Justice of the Peace should appear on the November ballot — incumbent Tom Clark or magistrate judge Susan Patterson.

There were 147,515 voters registered in Comal County as of the March 3 Primary Election.
