Police Recover Woman’s Body from Guadalupe River During Search for Former New Braunfels City Council Member

New Braunfels police say they pulled the body of a woman from the Guadalupe River around 6 p.m. today.

The recovery was made during a planned search for 59-year-old Juliet Watson, a former New Braunfels city council member reported missing May 26.

The body has not been positively identified and was sent to a medical examiner for an autopsy and identification.

The area was the focus of several searches within the past week, police said in a statement.

The search was conducted in coordination with Texas Search and Rescue (STAR) and the New Braunfels Community Emergency Response Team (NBCERT).

The case remains under investigation by the New Braunfels Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division.
