Whitewater Amphitheater near FM 2673 and FM 306 in New Braunfels began its Chapter 11 restructuring process Wednesday but in a social-media post promised fans, artists, employees and the Canyon Lake/New Braunfels community it’s still open for business.

Every scheduled concert is moving forward and employees will serve guests all season.

“This filing gives us the opportunity to protect one of Texas’ most iconic music venues while we reorganize and position Whitewater for a strong future,” Whitewater said in a statement. “Since opening in 2007, Whitewater has welcomed millions of guests and helped make New Braunfels a destination for live music. We’re committed to preserving that legacy.”

Kona Coast Venture Ltd., which operates Whitewater, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection Tuesday. The move may have avoided a foreclosure sale scheduled for the same day.

The popular venue has a capacity of around 5,600 people. Musician Bob Dylan performed there June 30.
