Public Health’s also offering extended hours and a special Saturday clinic to help parents beat the back-to-school rush.

Comal’s public health department also is partnering with the Texas Medical Association to offer a low-cost “Be Wise, Immunize” vaccine clinic 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 12, at the Comal County Goodwin Annex, 1297 Church Hill Drive in New Braunfels.
“Vaccines are the safest and most effective way to make sure your child stays healthy as they head back to school,” says Cheryl L. Fraser, Comal County director of public health. “We want to make it as easy as possible to get the immunizations your children need.”
Parents are encouraged to schedule appointments for vaccinations during the Office of Public Health’s normal and extended weekday office hours, but walk-ins are welcome.
Comal County offers a wide range of vaccines for both children and adults. Residents are encouraged to call ahead for cost information, which can vary by vaccine and insurance coverage. The office accepts cash, CHIP, Medicaid, Medicare Traditional Part B and Blue Cross Blue Shield.
