Canyon Lake Noon Lions Club's annual Christmas parade -- the largest in Comal County -- begins at 11 a.m. Dec. 14.

“Believe in the Magic of Christmas.”

That’s the theme of this year’s 41st Annual Canyon Lake Noon Lions Christmas Parade, which winds down FM 2673 in Sattler starting at 11 a.m. on Saturday. The Commemorative Air Force will kick off the parade with a flyover.

With as many as 70 floats, cars, marching bands, politicians, boy scouts, and many others — including the enormously popular Shiners — scheduled to roll, it’s the largest parade in Comal County. Hundreds of people who want to see the magic of Chritmas are expected to line the streets.

Residents are advised to arrive early if they expect to find a spot along FM 2673, which will close to traffic between 10:45 and 12:30 p.m. Comal County Sheriff’s Office will close some adjacent streets as well.

“It’s solid car-to-car lined up all along the route for a mile or more,” said Jo Ed Lyles, “lion tamer” for the event. “People will park on both sides of the highway.”

He said the parade line-up begins at Lowe’s, winding east along Sattler Road to FM 2673 before heading west on 2673.

The event is sponsored by GVTC, Lowe’s Market, Security Bank and Brookshire Brothers.
