Scammers are calling Comal County residents and posing as employees of the Comal County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) in an attempt to get payments for non-existent warrants or warrants that will be issued if payments aren’t made.

CCSO said the most recent scammers are calling from 830-488-7687 and may even mention names of actual people.

“These scammers may insist that you have citations for failing to appear before a grand jury,” CCSO posted on Facebook. “It is always best to verify any call claiming you have legal proceedings, fines or owe any money by locating the agency’s number online and calling them directly yourself.”

CCSO does not take payments for warrants over the phone.

To verify a call contact CCSO 24/7 at 830-620-3400.
