Joint Base San Antonio (JBSA)’s two Canyon Lake parks, Hancock Cove and Sunnyside, reopened on May 1.

Porshe Devol, assistant manager lodging/office for JBSA Recreation Park at Canyon Lake, said there are no immediate plans to reopen its public park, Jacob’s Creek. The park could remain closed through the summer season.

Sunnyside and Hancock Cove parks are open to military ID card holders (active duty, retiree, civilians that work or live on base) and their dependents.

Sunnyside and Hancock Cove are open year round. Hours are 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.

JBSA is the nation’s largest joint base. It includes JBSA-Lackland, JBSA-Fort Sam Houston and JBSA-Randolph. JBSA units mainly focus on training, flying, medical, cyber security, and intelligence according to military.com.

I have reservations for the Stargazing Event on 25 June 2022 at 9:00 p.m. at 698 Jacobs Creek Park Road. Is this event still scheduled. Website says park is closed? Cannot make contact with anyone to find out & prefer not to drive 60 miles if it is cancelled & would like to know about refund if necessary. Have called both phone#’s on numerous occasions (830)-964-3576 & (800) 280-3466. Get recording only that says Jacobs Creek Park Closed, all operators are assisting other callers & then only option given is to repeat recording.
