A Comal County insurance adjustor said Tuesday he will run for Comal County Pct. 4 Justice of the Peace in the March 2022 Republican primary.

Republican Mike Britt, owner and operator of Britt Claims and Consulting Services, describes himself as a long-term Comal County resident who believes in small government, “life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.”

“I also believe in the importance of community engagement, especially with our schools, and the importance of values that have made Comal County the best place to live in the United States,” he said.

Judge Jennifer Saunders currently holds this position and has not publicly announced her plans for reelection. She did not immediately return a phone call from MyCanyonLake.com.

The filing period for the March 2022 primaries officially opens Saturday and ends Dec. 13.

Britt was appointed by Gov. Greg Abbott to serve on the Texas Radiation Advisory Board, is a member of the Fratenal Order of Eagles #2999, sits on the Comal County Senior Citizen Center’s board of directors, and is a member of the National Rifle Association and the Association for Conflict Resolution.

He also is a member of the Canyon Lake Republican Women.

Britt and wife Donna are the parents of 13-year-old Kynadi.

I kind of judge candidates on their knowledge of political sign laws and or the knowledge of those same laws of who the candidate gets to put up his or her political signs. First off, Mike Britt has a sign clearly stuck out in the State Right-of-Way on Hwy 46 right outside the comal towing entrance. Britt wants to be a jp but this clear violation of State ROW laws seems to point in a direction that doesn’t loop good.
He is the candidate and has responsibilities to correct such infractions.
As far as placement of political signs on rhe fences of property owners… Britt also needs to be aware of who actually owns or is the Trustee of ant property where he would like a political sign placed. Anyone wanting to place their political signs on the Maurer property would have to contact the Trustee for permission. Getting any type of approval from anyone claiming ownership and control is failing to do their due diligence. In my opinion, due diligence is not being exerted by Britt and or his assigns that are putting up this political sign in the State ROW.

The guy’s an insurance adjuster. What qualifies him to determine a cause of death or conduct civil trials? No thanks
