Canyon Lake Area Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Kim Collora will retire Jan. 30, 2026.
She describes herself as “unbelievably blessed” after serving the business community for almost 16 years.
Collora started as the chamber’s administrative director before assuming her current position.
“She just does it all, and she makes it look easy,” said Chamber Board President Terry Harris, who’s known and worked with Collora for years.
As the board sifts through resumes searching for her replacement, members are keenly aware of the challenges the new director faces.
Harris said many small businesses in Canyon Lake don’t make it past their first year.
The co-owner of Harris Hardrock Trenching in Spring Branch wants a director who can get out in the community, spending a “morning here, a morning there.”
“I want them to go business-to-business. I want them to know we’re doing our best for them with more shout-outs on social media and our website. I want them to know that we have their back and that we’re all in this together out here. It’s going to be hard for anyone who comes in because we are a tourist-like community with no lake.
“So what are we selling?”
Collora said there’s an easy way for the community to kick off the New Year and support the community.
The 41st Annual Canyon Lake Area Chamber of Commerce Community Awards & Casino Night is scheduled from 5:30-9:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 16 at the CRRC Rec Center, 125 Mabel Jones Dr.
