Canyon Lake Firefighters Will Kick Cancer Out of the Park Sunday

Canyon Lake Professional Firefighters Association (CLPFFA) Local 4713 hosts Kick Cancer Out of the Park at 4 p.m. Sunday at the Community Resource & Recreation Center of Canyon Lake’s (CRRC) Rec Center, 125 Mabel Jones Dr.
Tailgate opens at 2 p.m.
The event follows the Dam Fine Car Show & Sunday Drive at Overlook and North parks and features food, live music, a 4 p.m. silent auction, and bounce house.
Damon Curtis will play live music.
Admission is free. Barbecue plates are $15 and include brisket, smoked sausage, potato salad and beans. Jambalaya is available for $5. Water is $1 and sodas are $2.
Also participating in the kickball tournament will be firefighters from Canyon Lake, New Braunfels, San Antonio and San Marcos.
Organizers hope to raise $10,000 T-shirts will be on sale. Funds raised will support a breast-cancer awareness charity.
CLPFFA also will provide a scholarship to a Canyon Lake High School student who wants to become a firefighter.
