Comal County commissioners today voted to accept a $32,000 check from the Canyon Lake Girls Softball Association (CLGSA) to help pay for a $205,000 lighting project at Canyon Lake’s county-operated Hidden Valley Sports Park.
On Facebook, CLGSA said the lights will be installed on two fields with groundbreaking scheduled for 2025.
Also at their weekly meeting, commissioners reappointed Alan Stahlman to Emergency Services District #3’s (Canyon Lake Fire/EMS) board of commissioners.
“I would like to give a heartfelt thank you to all the people that step up and serve on these boards, some of them for several years,” outgoing Pct. 1 Commissioner Donna Eccleston said. “They’ve been instrumental in keeping all of our county safe, so I’m very, very grateful.”
Commissioners also reappointed Jean Robinson and appointed James Green to the Water Oriented Recreation District of Comal County’s (WORD) board of directors.
“Another shout out to the people on the WORD board,” Eccleston said. “We may raise their pay from zero to zero. I’m very grateful for their service.”
