TPML interview
Jenny Rodriguez said she’s struck by the passion and enthusiasm of Tye Preston Memorial Library's patrons, volunteers and staff.

Canyon Lake’s new library director is Jenny Rodriguez, former programming manager at the New Braunfels Public Library.

Rodriguez said she’s struck by the passion and enthusiasm of Tye Preston Memorial Library’s (TPML) patrons, volunteers and staff,

“Everyone I’ve met is committed to this library, and that is a wonderful thing to be a part of,” she said. “In addition, it is a beautiful facility and the stewardship and appreciation of the natural surroundings is apparent in the thoughtful landscaping and birdwatching areas, art walk, story walk and apiary.”

Every library is different and is a reflection of the community.

“This library serves the community so well and is such an ingrained part of the community,” she said,

Rodriguez will spend her first few months at the library watching and learning how things work.

She said part of her new job is overseeing future renovation and expansion projects approved by the library board.

Rodriguez is the third director appointed since Roxanna Deane retired in October in 2020 after 16  years of service. In May, Natalie Shults resigned to serve as the library director for the Boerne Public Library.
