Canyon Lake Man Slashed by Machete in Road Rage Incident

A 55-year-old Canyon Lake man is in serious but stable condition after he got out of his car following a “rolling disturbance” with another driver who slashed his upper body with a machete-style knife.

The incident occurred at the intersection of North Market Avenue and East San Antonio Street in New Braunfels.

New Braunfels police are now searching for the suspect, described as an older white male with gray hair. He fled the scene in a light-colored truck.

On social media, New Braunfels Police Department (NBPD) said the victim was treated at the scene by paramedics and transported to a hospital in Kyle.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact NBPD or Comal County Crime Stoppers, which is offering a reward of up to $4,000 for information leading to an arrest and/or grand jury indictment.
