A Canyon Lake man who eluded Comal County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) deputies for over a month after allegedly shooting another man in the leg was arrested today in San Antonio and booked into Comal County Jail.
Brian Joseph Shermer, 67, is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Bond has been set at $125,000.
He was apprehended without incident in the area of Evans Road and Nacogdoches.
Around 7 a.m. March 19, CCSO responded to a 911 call regarding a 37-year-old male who was shot in the leg in the 300 block of Sir Arthur Way in Canyon Lake.
The victim was transported to a nearby hospital and released.
Deputies used K9s, drones, and criminal investigation units to scour the area but were unable to locate Shermer.
CCSO said its investigation is ongoing.
