Canyon Lake’s Heritage Museum Celebrates Dinosaur Day

Dinosaur lovers of all ages are invited to celebrate Dinosaur Day from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, March 29, at The Heritage Museum of the Texas Hill Country, 4831 FM 2673, Canyon Lake.

“The amazing educational event” includes dinosaur trackway tours, fossil ridge tours, and food.

Thomas Adams, the Witte Museum’s chief curator of paleontology and geology, will give hourly talks.

Tickets are $5.

The museum’s mission is to protect and preserve over 200 dinosaur footprints and 28 separate trackways uncovered during a construction project.

The footprints and trackway, made approximately 110 million years ago, are part of the early Cretaceous period in the upper Glen Rose Formation.
