Evacuations underway on River Road: Comal County Sheriff Mark Reynolds said River Road between Sattler/Canyon Lake and Gruene is being evacuated.

The road borders the Guadalupe River downstream from Canyon Lake.

A flash flood emergency has been issued. Flood sirens were activated. Campers are being evacuated. There are unconfirmed reports of several vehicles stalled or trapped at low-water crossings.

If you live near the river, dont wait for conditions to worsen he said. Move to higher ground now and stay tuned to official updates from Comal County and the National Weather Service.

Four to six inches of rain have fallen in the area as a very slow-moving thunderstorm over Comal County produced extremely heavy rainfall of three to five inches per hour.

More storms may continue to move over the same areas and cause additional flooding.

They were told hours ago that they needed to evacuate. They were given notice a little after 10:00.

We've had 3 inches of rain this morning. Our creeks are flooding into the GR downstream of Canyon Dam at the Horse Shoe bend near White Water. Another 3 or 4 inches here would flood River Road properties. Good luck driving out if you wait too long. :) :)

My friends at MountainBreeze are stuck/trapped… road is blocked & their vehicles are underwater
