Comal County Sheriff’s Office plans to educate parents about the local dangers and truths surrounding vaping, fentanyl and opioids at a community presentation at 6 p.m. Wednesday, March 23 at Canyon Lake High School, 8555 FM 32, Fischer.

Although there have been no reported cases of fentanyl overdoses in Comal ISD, a student in nearby Hays ISD died from a fentanyl-related poisoning on Jan. 2.

Hays ISD Supt. Eric Hays said there were three cases of suspected accidental fentanyl poisonings involving students as young as seventh grade over the winter break.

Four students in the district died from fentanyl poisoning in 2022.
