CCSO Reports Car Accident Involving a Sheriff’s Deputy

A Comal County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) deputy whose vehicle was hit by a speeding blue Toyota Highlander on Wednesday at the intersection of FM 3159 and FM 311 Wednesday suffered no major trauma and was released from a New Braunfels hospital.

The condition of the driver of a blue Toyota Highlander that crashed into the CCSO’s squad car is unknown.

The Department of Public Safety (DPS) is investigating the crash.

According to a CCSO Facebook post, the deputy was responding to a call to assist another deputy working a traffic stop. The deputy stopped at the busy intersection using lights and siren before proceeding through, and was broadsided by the other vehicle.

Both the CCSO deputy and the driver of the other vehicle were transported by emergency medical services to a nearby hospital in New Braunfels.
