There’s a lot more than catfish on the menu at Clear Springs Restaurant.
Try a Stinger (fresh jalapeno stuffed with catfish and shrimp, hand-breaded then fried golden brown), fried okra, crawfish tails, Jalapeno crawfish chowder … fried shrimp. Arrive early because standing room only is a common sight here.
Grilled specialties and salads have been added to the cafe’s famed fare: mounds of tasty fried catfish and mountains of tantalizing onion rings served in an authentic “old Texas country store” atmosphere.
Clear Springs Cafe was founded in 1984. It’s open from 11 a.m. daily.
