Jacob Foster just made even more history for Canyon Lake High School.
On Feb. 7, National Signing Day, he became the first CLHS football standout to sign with an FBS (formerly Division I) school, inking his name to a scholarship offer with the United States Air Force Academy.
In 2016, Foster was named District 14-4A Most Valuable Player despite playing on the offensive and defensive line.
“I’ll coach another 20 years and I’ll never have another offensive lineman win league MVP,” said CLHS assistant coach Bill Green. “No one in our district had an answer for him. I wish we had him for four more years.”
Foster helped lead the Hawks to the Regional Semifinals in the playoffs in 2017.
He made All-District three times and in 2016 he was Second-Team All-State. He was honorable mention All-State in 2017.
“Jacob continued to work hard in the classroom and on the football field all throughout his high school career, and that’s why we’re here today,” said CLHS head coach Charlie Drum. “He is and will continue to be a great ambassador of Canyon Lake High School and our community. I’ll be proud to watch him compete on the highest level on Saturdays.”
