Canyon Lake Water Service Company (CLWSC) said it is working on a plan to “minimize the financial impact” of the recent winter storm on its customers.
The company suspended billing and late fees as well as shut-offs for non-payment, the utility said in an email to customers.
Any bills arriving in mailboxes now were sent before the winter storm event.
“We realize that many in our community have experienced hardships as they have endured unprecedented adversity as a result of this event,” CLWSC said. “We understand your concern and are ready to assist you as our entire region moves out of this emergency.”
The utility company also thanked Comal ISD, area chambers of commerce and other groups for helping to distribute over 100,000 water bottles to schools and residents during the outage.
CLWSC warned of possible scams on social media and by phone.
Some customers may still suffer from leaks, CLWSC said. Teams have reached out to customers showing unusually high usage.
