Brad Walker was stationed with the U.S. military in Germany in 2000 when he bet a friend he could find every Hot Wheel ever made.

The San Antonio resident, who’d collected the miniature vehicles as a child, won by a single car (actually three of the same make and model).

Now, he says it’s time to sell off his 20,000-car collection. As of noon today, several thousand were already gone.

Brad’s Hot Wheels Fest 2024 runs from 8 a,m. to 6 p.m. today (Aug. 16), Saturday and Sunday at Holiday Inn Club Vacations’ Hill Country Resort Conference Room, 17545 FM 306, Canyon Lake.

Prices on his collectibles range from $2 to $3,000. Admission is $5 per person and free for kids under the age of 10.

Promotional literature promises visitors will see thousands of hot wheels, treasure hunts, premiums, mainline, five packs and more.

Hill Country Assistant General Manager Todd Sylvester said visitors also can enjoy a car show in the resort’s parking area.
