Comal County is not involved in active recovery operations stemming from July 4-5 flooding along the Guadalupe River and in Canyon Lake.

Crews with state and the federal government are in the area, county Public Information Officer Cary Zayas said.

“These crews are coming through Comal County but their mission is outside of our jurisdiction,” she said.

The recovery mission focuses on the Guadalupe River above Canyon Lake and in Canyon Lake as far as Potter Creek.

Pct. 1 Commissioner Doug Leecock said crews are looking at debris fields.

Scam Activity

Residents who are approached at home by someone claiming to be part of the recovery effort should ask for official identification. When in doubt, they are advised to contact local law enforcement.

“With so many reports of scam activity, we remind you to stay alert and protect your personal information,” Zayas said. “Don’t become a victim.”
