Comal County Reports 29 New COVID-19 Cases, Seven Hospitalizations

Comal County reported 29 new COVID-19 cases today, bringing the county’s total to 19,775.

The total number of deceased remains 456.

Comal County hospitals are caring for seven COVID-19 patients. Of those, one is in intensive care and one is on a ventilator. Approximately 100% of those patients are unvaccinated. Not all COVID-positive patients hospitalized in Comal County are necessarily county residents.

Some 59.09% of Comal County residents are fully vaccinated.

The county’s Public Health Department is administering Moderna COVID-19 vaccines for those 18 and older, and Pfizer vaccines for anyone 12 years and older. Once Public Health receives a standing order from the Public Health Authority for Region 8 it will begin administering vaccines to children ages five and up.

Those who are at high risk and qualify for a third dose or a booster also can call to schedule an appointment for a vaccine. The number is 830-221-1150.
